Xpeng has filed its new GX full-size crossover SUV for sales approval in China, providing the first comprehensive look at the model through official documents released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). The filing confirms that the GX will be offered in both battery-electric (BEV) and extended-range electric (EREV) versions.
The GX was teased by Xpeng only days earlier, with the company releasing a limited set of images that prompted early comparisons to the Range Rover due to its upright proportions and boxy silhouette.
Until now, however, details about the vehicle had been limited. The MIIT documents clarify the GX’s specifications, dimensions, and powertrain options, offering a clearer picture of Xpeng’s upcoming flagship SUV.

Measuring 5,265 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, and 1,800 mm in height, the Xpeng GX is the brand’s largest SUV to date. It rides on a 3,115 mm wheelbase and is offered with 21-inch or 22-inch wheels depending on the variant. Front and rear overhangs measure 980 mm and 1,170 mm respectively, while approach and departure angles are listed at 18 and 20 degrees.
Exterior details shown in the regulatory images highlight a design focused on clean surfaces and sharp edges. Features include retractable door handles, an active front air intake, and blacked-out A-, B-, and C-pillars that create a floating roof effect. The lighting setup uses a two-tier arrangement, with slim upper elements and the main headlamps positioned low in the front bumper.

The GX is configured as a six-seater with a 2+2+2 layout. A split tailgate is also listed, a feature commonly associated with large luxury SUVs. Curb weight ranges from 2,690 kg to 2,890 kg depending on specification, while gross vehicle weight is listed between 3,240 kg and 3,405 kg.
According to MIIT data, the rear-wheel-drive BEV variant uses a single electric motor supplied by Luxshare, producing 270 kW (362 hp). This version is paired with an LFP battery pack sourced from CALB, though battery capacity has not been disclosed. The listed top speed is 200 km/h.
The all-wheel-drive BEV variant adds a second electric motor at the front, developed by Xpeng, producing 160 kW (215 hp). Combined output for this version reaches 430 kW (577 hp). It uses a ternary NMC battery pack, also supplied by CALB, with the same listed top speed of 200 km/h.

The EREV version of the Xpeng GX is rated for up to 320 km of electric-only driving range based on regulatory data. The filing also indicates that the GX is equipped with hardware capable of supporting advanced assisted driving systems, including a computing platform rated at 3,000 TOPS, suggesting readiness for higher levels of driver assistance pending regulatory approval.
In Nepal, Xpeng currently offers the G6 and X9 models. While the GX has not been announced for the local market, the introduction of its BEV variant would place Xpeng in the full-size luxury electric SUV segment in Nepal, an area that remains relatively limited in available options.
